I wanted to post a QUICKIE about 2 liquid lipsticks that are worth comparing…
I chose these two lipsticks because I noticed HOW SIMILAR they were and wanted to do a little comparison.
1 – NYX Liquid Lingerie’HoneyMoon’
My friend recently asked me if this line of the NYX brand was worth it… YES IT IS!
FORMULA: GOES ON SHINY, DRIES MATTE
FINISH: MATTE
COLOR (STATED ON WEBSITE): GREY TONED BEIGE
COLOR (ON MY LIPS): GREY/PURPLE
PRICE: $7 USD
2 – CP (ColourPop) ‘Kapow’
FORMULA: GOES ON SEMI-SHINY, DRIES SUPER-MATTE
FINISH: ‘ULTRA’ MATTE
COLOR (AS STATED ON WEBSITE): GREY/TAUPE
COLOR (AS SEEN ON MY LIPS): GREY/PURPLE
PRICE: $6 USD
VERY similar in APPEARANCE…
As you can see in the picture below the 2 colors look almost the same. (My colourpop color is a little worn out) … NYX appears more ‘beige’ while CP has that more ‘taupe’ color
When SWATCHED onto the SKIN…
NYX ‘Honeymoon’ looks a little similar to the bottle. While CP ‘Kapow’ looks completely different when applied to the skin – it has a more purple tone in it. *remember my skin tone could have an effect on the color
FORMULA COMPARISONS…
I would wear NYX ‘Honeymoon’ compared to CP ‘Kapow’
If you follow my blog, or if you own any ColourPop you would know HOW drying and somewhat UNCOMFORTABLE their formula is! Don’t get me wrong.. I STILL LOVE colourpop and I like how long lasting it is but the formula can seriously take a toll on my lips.
NYX ‘Honeymoon’ is long-lasting AND comfortable. NOT AS DRYING.
That basically concludes what I have to compare between the two colors.
